Description

The EPA Division of the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE) is seeking written work proposals and quotations for a Cost Benefit Study on a State-based Container Deposit System (CDS) for Tasmania.

The main objective of the study is to provide sufficient information for the Government to make an informed decision on the implementation of a CDS in the State, should this be required. The study is to provide, amongst other things, information on the public and private investment requirements for a model scheme.

The study is to include a review of significant CDS-related reports, and an assessment of the costs and benefits of implementing a CDS, assessed against a ‘business as usual’ baseline.
