Description
- The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the St Peters Street Upgrade (the Project). The Council will enter into a Works Agreement with the Preferred Tenderer
- In 2014, the Council completed the St Peters Civic Plaza adjacent the St Peters Town Hall Complex and an Avenue of Honour on St Peters Street near the existing war memorial. The Council now proposes to upgrade the remainder of St Peters Street to improve the amenity, accessibility and safety of the local area.
- The St Peters Street Upgrade comprises civil, lighting and electrical and landscape construction works within the road reserve between First and Eighth Avenues, St Peters.
- The Project provides a unique opportunity to deliver measurable environmental benefits through use of native plants which provide food and habitat for native animals, Water Sensitive Urban Design, street tree planting, permeable paving and the extension of the Linde Reserve ASR recycled water system to supply irrigation to the street and local reserves.
- The Successful Tenderer will work with the Council to deliver an exemplary built outcome for St Peters Street in accordance with the Project Specifications.
- The Council’s Project budget is $4.5 million, including $1.270 million received as part of the Federal Governments Local Government and Community Infrastructure Program Extension.
- If the full Project scope exceeds the existing Project budget, the Council will need to either increase the Project budget or vary the scope of works in negotiation with the Preferred Tenderer.
- Works for the Project are to be provided in a timely and practical method commencing in early 2022 and completed within 2022 calendar year.
