Description

The PTA requires a general concreting service that is experienced in providing roadside concreting works like the installation of kerbing and footpaths. The concrete contractor will provide services based on the proposed schedule of prices using the design drawings provided by the PTA’s Survey and Design Services contractor. The concrete contractor will liaise with the PTA and the Survey and Design Services contractor to assist in refining the drawings provided to undertake the required works. Every new bus stop site will be constructed so that it can meet the design requirements of the Public Transport Bus Stop Site Layout Guidelines.

The PTA requires a concreting services contractor to work on a range of bus stop accessibility projects. The PTA plans to utilise these services on a range of different projects over the Contract term. It is intended that contractors in the Panel will be issued with logical batches of bus stop sites in order to maximise efficiency, based on an overall value for money assessment. The level of work issued is not guaranteed by the PTA but is likely to consist of 840 bus stop sites per annum distributed amongst all Panel participants.

The PTA requires the services of a well experienced and skilled concreting service that is familiar with providing kerbing and general paving services, or simple civil / services construction services.

The likely scope of work at each bus stop site will vary by location but could include the following items:

  • New or adjusted kerbing;
  • Concrete slab to provide a level passenger boarding area;
  • Saw Cutting to facilitate removal of existing kerbing/paving;
  • Retaining walls as required;
  • Installation of painted steel balustrades on raised edges;
  • Relocation and removal of existing bus shelters;
  • Rectification and reconnection of reticulation services disturbed by the work;
  • Making good other entities’ services’ access pits disturbed by the work (e.g. Local Government, telecommunications or electrical services);
  • Traffic Management during construction;
  • Provision of kerb ramps;
  • Construction of footpath;
  • Bitumen works as required;
  • Provision of brick paving services
  • Reconnection of works to existing footpath network;
  • Removal of rubble/green waste and making good of entire worksite; and
  • Finishing works, including full site clean-up.

The following is not included in this scope of work but the contractor may be required to assess and coordinate the items below during construction:

  • Supply and installation of new bus shelters (by others); and/or
  • Supply and installation of new signage (by others).
