River Torrens Breakout Creek wetlands extension - stakeholder engagement and concept plan

Aims

To work with staff from Natural Resources AMLR and the Cities and West Torrens and Charles Sturt to engage key stakeholders, including the community, to seek input and to develop a concept plan for the next stage of the Breakout Creek wetlands (from Tapleys Hill Road to the outlet at West Beach).

Objectives

• Develop an engagement strategy.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including the community, to seek input and ideas for the next stage of the Breakout Creek wetlands.
• Take the information gathered from the engagement process, combined with professional expertise in planning, natural resources management and engineering, and develop a concept plan for the next stage of the Breakout Creek wetlands. The concept plan should realise the benefits of the wetlands including: improvements in the biodiversity of the riparian and aquatic habitats; improvements in water quality; and increased public access, amenity and potential for recreation in this area.
• Prepare an estimate of future construction costs based on the concept plan.
