Kangaroo Island Council(the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of supply and installation of safety barrier at various location along the length of Stokes Bay Road, Stokes Bay, KI(the Services).The Council will enter into a Contract for Services with the successful Tenderer.
Stokes Bay Road from Playford Highway to North Coast Road was upgraded over a four year program Kangaroo Island Council.
This road reconstruction from unsealed to sealed road status was jointly funded by Council and the Special Local Roads Program (SLRP), with funding delivered through the Local Government Transport Advisory Panel(LGTAP), and the final stage was completed in 2012.
A subsequent Road Safety Audit undertaken by an independent traffic engineer consultant highlighted additional treatments required to further improve road safety.
Areas identified as several areas displaying steep batters and verges were targeted for crash/vehicle run-off protection, and an additional submission to LGTAP has delivered funding to install complying guard railing, line marking additions, vegetation clearance for sight distance improvements and extra sealing of corners at intersections.
This tender seeks submissions from accredited guard railing installers for the supply & installation of railing as specified in the tender documents along Stokes Bay road.
