23C307 Kidman Bridge Refurbishment

The Project is for the refurbishment of Kidman Bridge, located over the River Torrens on Henley Beach Road. The bridge was designed in 1935 and the girders were repainted in 1990, and the expansion and construction joints in the deck were sealed in 2020-2021 to prevent water infiltration, and to limit deterioration of the underlying structure. The paint on the girders, corrosion and spalling of concrete are continually degrading which dictates its urgent need for repair. The objectives of the project are to extend the life of the asset by adequately protecting the steelwork and rectifying deteriorated areas of concrete to the bridge deck, barrier posts and piers.
