NSW Aquaculture Economic Contributions Study - P22-4584-1

The aim of this study is to estimate the economic contribution of aquaculture activity in NSW in 2021/22 with optional update analyses undertaken for the 2023/24, 2025/26 and 2027/28 financial years. As a result of the need for industry to justify sector status for event recovery responses, the contributions of these sectors will be based on a local government area and estuary region basis. The economic contribution of each sector will also be presented at a state level. The study will focus on primary production but will also quantify the economic contribution along the seafood supply-chain to the extent possible within the proposed approach. A three-year forecast for each sector will be developed from primary data, relevant reports and interviews with key industry representatives.
