Description
The State Government has developed an Electric Vehicle (EV) Strategy to prepare for the transition to low—and zero-emission electric vehicles and maximise the benefits to the state of Western Australia. To support the State’s EV Strategy, the Government has made a commitment to trial EV charging infrastructure at “Park and Ride” stations. Park and Ride bays are generally utilised by commuters who occupy bays for an entire workday, making the bays conducive to slow charging (level 2), which is efficient and creates less wear on the vehicle’s battery than fast chargers. Locating charge points at stations provides a reliable service for Transperth customers and fits these commuting behaviour patterns. This has resulted in PTA’s EV Charging Trial, which aims to install EV charging infrastructure at the Mandurah Station. The intent of this aim is to enable the trial to gather data from a station in the Southern suburbs, building on the information gathered in other locations across the metropolitan area. Information gathered from this site will be used to support the rollout of EV charging infrastructure at Park and Ride stations. The PTA requires the services of a qualified and experienced designer to carry out the required design works for the EV charging infrastructure at the Mandurah Station Car Park and provide engineering support throughout the construction phase.
