City West Project – Constructability Assessment (By Contractor)

The City West Project is comprised of two Phases. Phase One is the replacement and raising of the Sutherland Street bridges. Phase Two works are associated with the upgrade to City West Station including a new underpass at Delhi Street. Whilst the phases have been designed so that they can be constructed independently the PTA?s preference is for the phases to be constructed concurrently. PTA has recently completed a concept design (~10%) for this project and is seeking ongoing constructability advice to support the development of mitigation strategies to control key risks to the project. The primary objective is to: Minimise or avoid the closure of the Fremantle line,Minimise the overall construction timeline for the project,Minimise disruption to the adjacent road network and Principal Shared Path (PSP); andIdentify cost efficiencies during material procurement and construction stages. The PTA seeks an initial deliverable of the following: Review the PTA's concept design and provide a concise report with supporting appendices/attachments containing the following for both Phase 1 and 2 as individual projects; anda combined build: Staging plans for construction Construction methodology and techniques to minimise any rail closure timeHigh level construction timeframe (i.e. estimated months for construction) identifying all rail closures needed and length of each.Identification and detailing of any long lead items, estimated duration for procurement and reconstruction activitiesConstruction stage land requirementsHigh level review of foundation/substructure of proposed bridge design including opportunities for the mechanical/chemical stabilisation of earth.Key risks including any potential fatal flaws (with proposed mitigation measures and suggestions for improvement)Suggested additional design information required to inform risk e.g. Geotech, utilities; andA supplier presentation of findings (allow 3 hours). ???????
