Engagement of Career Facilitators to deliver Industry Training Hub Services in eight locations

The Department is seeking to engage eight Career Facilitators to deliver Industry Training Hub (Training Hub) services in New South Wales (Grafton, Gosford), Victoria (Shepparton), Queensland (Maryborough), Western Australia (Wanneroo, Armadale), South Australia (Port Pirie) and Northern Territory (Alice Springs).

The Training Hubs were announced as part of the Skills Package ‘Delivering Skills for Today and Tomorrow’ in the 2019-20 Budget. The Government will invest $50.6 million over four years to pilot ten Training Hubs in selected regions with high youth unemployment across Australia.

A Career Facilitator will be engaged to facilitate delivery of Training Hub services in each location. The Career Facilitators will be an on-the-ground presence to map skills shortages and form partnerships between local employers, schools and those providing advice and education to students.

Career Facilitators will not deliver similar services to those provided by career advisors in schools, Employment Facilitators, Apprenticeship Network Providers, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) or other training or job matching services including jobactive. The Career Facilitator will work to improve connections between local stakeholders, to create sustainable employment outcomes for the region and the broader economy.

Career Facilitators will deliver Training Hubs services in each location from January 2021.
