Description

The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing (the department) is seeking Tenders from capable and experienced organisations or consortiums to undertake the development of an innovative, implementable quality framework (the framework) for Australian Government funded drug and alcohol treatment services.

It is intended that the framework would initially apply to drug and alcohol treatment services receiving Australian Government funding to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. It will need to be sensitive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ services and settings.

Given that drug and alcohol treatment services are provided across a range of sectors and settings, the framework should be developed with consideration to a potentially wider application in the future.

The framework will need to be developed in full consultation with, and participation from, the drug and alcohol treatment sector, sector experts and relevant Australian, state and territory governments. It will need to consider:

• existing frameworks in this area;

• other modelling and planning activities; and

• complementary improvement, planning and review activities, currently underway by governments, in the drug and alcohol prevention and treatment services sector.
