Description
Primary Industries and Resources of South Australia is undertaking a project to eradicate the invasive seaweed Caulerpa Taxifolia from West Lakes by replacing the saline water in the lake with fresh water from the River Torrens. Contractors are invited to submit expressions of interest for sections of these fast-tracked works as follows: Contract A for construction of approximately 700m of 600mm ID pressure pipeline, buried in residential streets in the City of Charles Sturt, during May 2003. Contract B for supply of 332 number 12m lengths of 400mm OD PN8 PE 80 Polyethylene pipes, 76 backing flanges and stubs and associated M24 bolts, washers and nuts, for use in connection with Contract C dredging works, and for delivery by early June 2003. Contract C will be for two areas of work. Firstly, design, manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance and removal of a temporary diesel pump station on the banks of the River Torrens in City of Charles Sturt, capable of delivering 62ML/d based on 24 hour operation with 15m required head of pressure, to meet EPA requirements for noise emissions. The pump station is to be operational by early June 2003. Secondly, this contract will require the supply and operation of two dredges in West Lakes to pump saline water out of the lake, through screens, into the Port River at the northern end, as fresh water enters the lake from the southern end. This work is also required to meet EPA requirements for noise emissions. Pumping and dredging works will take place between June and October 2003. Expressions of Interest shall include demonstration of: recent capability to undertake works or supply of material of this nature, ability to deliver within the fast-track timescales outlined above, company's financial status, company registration with ASIC, quality assurance accreditation.
