Description

Parks and Wildlife Services are seeking the services of suitably qualified and experienced building contractors to construct a range of new facilities for the Cradle Mountain Visitor Gateway Precinct.

Facilities to be built include a visitor services centre, and commercial services building and café. The works will involve the demolition of existing buildings. Ancillary services buildings to be constructed will include a shuttle bus shelter, an information and orientation building, and a coach transit building with public toilets.

The works include civil, landscaping, and rehabilitation works, access roads and car parking. Contructions will be developed on Crown Land close to the Cradle Mountain National park alongside Cradle Mountain Road.

The project will consists of two stages, outlined in the Architectural Staging Plan. The purpose of the staging is to allow continuous operation by tenants and visitors on the site. The existing Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre and car parking will be required to remain in operation until occupancy of Stage One works.

The exact sequence of works is to be managed by the contractor and co-ordinated with existing users.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed by December 2020.
