SENIOR CLINICAL NURSE CONSULTANT AND CLINICAL NURSE CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE DVA EXCEPTIONAL CASE UNIT (ECU)

The purpose of this RFT is to engage by contract, a Senior Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Consultants, who possess a range of community nursing and aged care expertise, for the Department’s ECU.

The ECU Senior Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Consultants are expected to promote industry recognised nursing best practice to DVA-contracted community nursing providers.

The ECU Senior Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Consultants must hold a current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Certificate of Registration, Nurse – Registered Nurse (Division 1) with General Registration.

The Senior Clinical Nurse Consultant and the Clinical Nurse Consultants must have a minimum of five (5) years full time equivalent post-graduate nursing experience in nursing, particularly in one or more of the following specialist areas:

·Community Nursing;

·Gerontology

·Wound Management

·Palliative Care

·Dementia and Challenging Behaviour

·Mental Health

·Continence Management

·Diabetes

·Rehabilitation

·Other community nursing specialties

The work is desk-based with a large component of computer work processing and assessing new applications, extensions, and variations for veterans and war widows/widowers with exceptional case status.Communication with DVA-contracted community nursing providers is by telephone, fax and/or email.ECU Senior Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Consultants must possess excellent communication skills.
