WA Department for Child Protection
Specialised Fostering Program
Details
Description
The Children and Community Services Ministerial Body through the Department for Child Protection (the Department) is seeking responses from suitable Respondents to become part of a panel of approved Service Providers to provide the Specialised Fostering Program.
Respondents should refer to "Part B - Service Agreement Details" (in attached Request Document) for information regarding the proposed panel arrangement.
Consistent with the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy, July 2011 the Department intends to engage with the not-for-profit community sector, including Local Government Authorities for the provision of this Service.
The purpose of the Specialised Fostering Program is to provide therapeutic intervention for children and young people in the Chief Executive Officer's care. These children have high to complex needs or are a large sibling group and are unable to be accommodated and supported in general foster care or group placement options, or whose behaviours have stabilised and are exiting more intensive placements such as Residential Group Homes and the Transitional High Needs program. The placement is seen as a long-term option for the child or young person with the Service Provider being able to adjust the service level and cost over time to reflect the reduction in the level of need and hence level of service as the child and young person responds to the therapeutic intervention.
A non-mandatory briefing will be conducted at 9:30am, on Wednesday 26 September2012 at the Department for Child Protection, Theatrette, Canteen Block, 189 Royal St, East Perth. Respondents are requested to confirm their attendance by no later than 3:30pm Tuesday 25 September 2012 by contacting Katrina Siddons, Administration Officer on telephone [phone hidden] or email [email hidden]
