Interlocking Design Support Services - Major Projects

The State Government of Western Australia is planning a new 60,000 to 70,000 seat major sports stadium and sports precinct at Burswood, Western Australia. An upgrade of the existing transport infrastructure in the area of the sports precinct is planned to occur concurrently with the stadium development to cater for the increase in patronage resulting from the proposed development.

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is responsible for the planning and delivery of the Transport Infrastructure associated with the State Government’s proposed new Perth Stadium on the Burswood peninsula.

The PTA has been tasked with producing a railway transport system that will move 35,500 passengers away from the Stadium in the hour following a major event.

Interlocking Design Support Services may also be required in other areas of the PTA Urban Rail Network by the Major Projects Unit under this Tender.

The scope of services is for the provision of Consultants at an hourly rate who will be competent to perform the following roles in the preparation of MicroLok and MicroLok Interlocking Simulation System (MISS) data:

• Design;

• Checking;

• Functional and Principles Testing; and

• Commissioning

The Consultant will need to offer a suitable number of staff such that the roles of design, check and test can be performed by independent people.

The initial tasks undertaken will be in support of the signalling works required to deliver the Transport Infrastructure for the new Perth Stadium. The specific tasks will be defined within the Contract.
