ASBESTOS MATERIAL REGISTER & MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR WACHS WHEATBELT

The WACHS Wheatbelt requires the provision of a licensed Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) Surveyor to inspect and report on the condition of asbestos based products within nominated Hospitals and WACHS owned accommodation throughout the Wheatbelt and to update and maintain the WACHS Asbestos Audit Register.

In keeping with the appropriate State and Commonwealth Legislation, with respect to prevention and/or elimination of potential exposure of employees, staff and visitors to asbestos-related diseases, the WACHS Wheatbelt are required to assess premises, implement control measures and maintain an Asbestos Register for all buildings at health sites. This is consistent with:

• The National Code of Practice for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Substances (NOHSC: 2007 (1994) and Asbestos (April 2005) in Workplaces;
• Code of Practice for the Management and Control of Asbestos in Workplaces (NOHSC: 2018 (2005) National Occupation Health & Safety Commission, Canberra, April 2005); and
• HSG264 Asbestos: The survey guide (Health and Safety Executive (2012).

WACHS Wheatbelt require the services of a Company specialising in asbestos to undertake the inspection on the below sites, provide a report of the findings and update the WACHS Asbestos Audit Register.
