Provision of Industry Development Services and Strategic Planning and Analysis Services

The Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia's Agrifood 2025+ strategic plan outlines how we will work with industries, communities and governments to help support the success of WA’s agrifood sector over the three years to 2017. The Agrifood 2025+ target is to double the value of the sector. The plan outlines where our department will invest our resources in 2014-2017 in line with the Minister’s priorities of:

• growing markets – securing long-term trading arrangements
• growing productivity – satisfying delivery requirements to target markets
• growing profitability – adopting new business models and improved value chains to increase returns to all participants
• growing people – empowering people throughout the sector.

The pursuit of these goals is underpinned by a commitment to boost biosecurity and sustain the state’s natural resources.

This will be achieved through a programme of industry focused market and supply chain development projects coupled with complimentary research and development and business skills innovation and development projects. Agrifood 2025 will be driven across DAFWA with industry specific projects being lead through the Department’s Directorates:

• Livestock industries,
• Grains industry,
• Irrigated Agriculture and
• Bio-security and regulations.

DAFWA wishes to establish a panel contract of suitably qualified service providers to provide a wide range of professional consultative services, on an ‘as and when’ needed basis, to assist in the development and delivery of projects related to the delivery of the Agrifood 2025+ Strategic Plan. There are two broad categories of work within the scope, with categories structured as outlined below:
