Defence Global Supply Chain (GSC) Program

The GSC Program is a key export initiative that provides Australian Suppliers with opportunities in the international supply chains of multinational defence companies (Primes). The GSC Program, in conjunction with the Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Program, are Australia’s industrial participation programs – an alternative to offset modelled programs which are more common in other countries. Under the Program, Primes are funded to establish a GSC team within their company to:

- Support and advocate for the GSC Program at the global enterprise level, and deliver contractual outcomes to Australian Suppliers. Ensure that Australian Industry receives focus that is at least equal to that of other countries (e.g. those with offset models).

- Identify, assess and qualify capable Australian Suppliers.

- Identify opportunities across all business units, both Defence and Civil, and provide these opportunities to Australian Suppliers.

- Identify opportunities for Australian Suppliers at all Technology Readiness Levels.

- Provide mentoring, training and regular feedback to Australian Suppliers.

- Provide continual internal advocacy, help Australian Suppliers gain access to key decision makers within the prime and provide assistance overseas including at Team Defence Australia trade events.

- Work with the other primes’ GSC teams to grow Australian Industry, share information to boost exports, and reduce duplication of effort.

The GSC Program intends expanded group of Primes with the aim of increasing the number and diversity of global supply chains available to Australian Industry.
