Liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer (LC - MS)
Details
Description
The National Measurement Institute (NMI) requires a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer (LC-MS), including the disposal of an existing LC-MS.
This instrument will be used initially for isotope dilution mass spectrometric (IDMS) measurement of the concentration of nucleic acid monophosphates (MWt around 320 Da) obtained from digestion of DNA. It will also be used as a backup for LC-MS analysis of single stranded and double stranded nucleic acid molecules up to 200 nucleotides long (MWt about 124,000 Da). The IDMS function requires mass resolution of 10,000 at 320 Da for specificity and so a high resolution mass analyser will be needed.
