WA Department of Transport
Supplying of Mooring Buoys
Details
Description
DoT provides a network of public courtesy swing moorings, emergency moorings and rental moorings along the WA coastline to service the growing number of recreational vessels transiting along the coast and to provide a safe alternative for boat owners who have in the past installed unauthorised moorings used only on a casual basis.
The visual difference for a courtesy versus emergency swing mooring is the colour of the buoys and the nature of their use (i.e. red buoy indicates the mooring is for courtesy use, white buoy indicates the mooring is for emergency use, green buoys indicate rental moorings).
DoT requires a Contractor to supply swing mooring buoys in a colour matching existing moorings.
