Services for valuation of assets of the Department of Defence

The Department of Defence (Defence) seeks to engage a suitable Contractor to deliver services for valuation of all Defence assets over the three year period from FY 2011/12 to 2013/14. Defence Support Group (DSG) will manage and program the specific Defence requirements during this revaluation period, with the valuation process commencing in September each year.

Additionally, from time to time, DSG, other Defence Groups and the Defence Materiel Organisation may engage the Contractor to provide minor valuation services or advice at the agreed schedule of rates specified in the resultant contract.

The valuation process is based on physical inspections of each asset for approximately one third of the Defence estate asset base for each year of the three revaluation period (i.e. 2011/12 to 2013/14). For the remaining two thirds of the Defence estate asset base, revaluations are to be applied using a desktop approach. A sampling approach is applied for other plant and equipment assets.
