Description

The Drainage and Waterways Branch of the Department of Water (DoW) has several strategically important urban water management and drainage projects in progress and anticipates the addition of new projects over the next two (2) years.
DoW requires services relating to the provision of a range of ad hoc drainage and urban water management policy and technical advisory services.
The successful Respondent/s will provide the following services (but not limited to):
• provision of policy and technical advice on better integration of land and water planning;
• provision of policy and technical advice on implementation of Better Urban Water Management (BUWM) by developers and local government for best water resource management, stormwater and ground drainage outcomes;
• provision of urban drainage planning and arterial drainage scheme policy advice;
• drafting of urban water management and drainage guideline and policy documents;
• business support to the New Water Ways Program, including initial provision of executive support to the New Water Ways Board; and
• the preparation and delivery of presentations and workshop material.
DoW reserves the right to award the Request, in full to one Respondent or parts of it to more than one Respondent.

Range of Services
Technical assistance and policy advice is required on a range of matters relating to urban water management and drainage and include, but not limited to the:
• provision of reports, technical and policy advice;
• drafting of guideline and policy documents and Implementation of plans;
• provision of technical assistance and policy advice relating to the better integration of the urban water management and land planning process for urban development;
• provision of urban drainage planning policy and arterial drainage scheme strategy advice for both existing and new drainage areas;
• collection and analysis of data and/or information on WSUD from government agencies, non-government organisations and stakeholders;
• liaison with government agencies, non-government organisations and stakeholders on implementation of BUWM and WSUD;
• preparation of reports, workshop materials and delivery of presentations for capacity building (New Water Ways) workshops for stakeholders;
• the preparation and presentation of project reports;
• attend and participate in project meetings, schedule and organise workshops, prepare workshop materials and conduct presentations as required; and
• assisting with supporting the New Water Ways program which includes providing initial business plan, executive and public relations support to the New Water Ways Board. Support services include the updating and managing of the New Water Ways website at www.newwaterways.org.au .
