Description

PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA (PathWest) requires the provision of a Protein Electrophoresis Testing Solution for the Special Chemistry Unit(s) within the Department of Biochemistry.

PathWest currently perform Protein Electrophoresis testing to diagnose and monitor tumours of the antibody producing cells (b lymphocytes) and deficiencies of the immune system. Testing is via analysis of patient blood (serum) or urine and takes the form of an initial quantitative test (serum/urine protein electrophoresis) followed by (in some cases) a characterisation test used to identify the type of abnormal immunoglobulin being produced (immunofixation electrophoresis).

PathWest will consider both capillary and gel electrophoresis; semi and fully automated solutions as part of this Request.

Beyond the analytical testing phase, archiving and comparison of previous testing records are an important aspect. Accordingly, the offered solution must include software capable of analysis and archival of protein electrophoresis and immunofixation test results, necessary for interpretation and the required test workflow.

In addition to equipment and software, the supply of associated reagents and consumables, training and optional post-warranty service and maintenance form part of this Request.
