Customer Service / Data Archival, Retrieval &/or Decommission Solution - DICT/3658

There are many applications across BRD and SIRA that are no longer used to manage business functions. As the data contained in these applications is required by relevant business areas for data retrieval and record keeping compliance, these applications are being retained on an indefinite basis. Maintaining these applications is not cost effective as compared to their utilisation as there are license, support and maintenance costs on an annual basis. In addition, these applications consume resources on servers, networks and storage media. To ensure that the business gains value while also ensuring important legacy data availability of these applications, it is necessary to secure an archive & retrieval solution that can be used to house data that is required on an ongoing basis and help decommission any eligible application after data archiving. This project is to cater for a solution for such applications.
