European Train Control System Level2 EOI

Queensland Rail Limited (Queensland Rail) has committed to implementing European Train Control System Level 2 (ETCS L2) Automatic Train Protection (ATP) on the South East Queensland (SEQ) rail network. The objectives of the ETCS L2 Implementation Program are to improve operational safety, improve the capacity of the existing network and to use the opportunity to simplify and re-write the operating principles, safety rules and procedures. Queensland Rail has issued this invitation to inform Prospective Respondents to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be considered for possible participation in the Collaborative Development Group (CDG) and then for possible participation in supply, installation and commissioning of requisite equipment. During this stage (the CDG Stage) the selected participants will develop interoperability rules (Rules) for the possible future implementation of the European Train Control System Level 2 (ETCS L2) by Queensland Rail on its City network.
