Geotechnical Lead - Pioneer Burdekin PHES

Queensland Hydro are inviting Suppliers to tender for a Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA) for suitably qualified drilling Contractors to perform shallow geotechnical drilling for the Pioneer-Burdekin Pumped Hydro Energy Storage Project (PBPHES).

The Geotechnical Lead package is needed to inform the DAR and associated Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the project. The Geotechnical lead is required to:

• Provide Engineering Geologist services
  • Geological Mapping
  • Delivery of a final factual report
• Provide or subcontract the following sub-packages:
  • Engineering Survey
  • Service Location
  • Surface Geophysical Survey
  • Downhole Geophysical Survey
  • In-situ Stress Measurement
  • Instrumentation and Monitoring
• Supervise, direct, and manage third-party contractors engaged by Queensland Hydro to undertake the following geotechnical works on site:
  • Shallow Geotechnical Drilling
  • Deep Geotechnical Drilling
  • Test Pit Excavation
  • Groundwater Drilling
• Coordinate with the following off-site third-party contractors engaged by Queensland Hydro:
  • Geomechanical Testing Laboratory
  • Geochemical and Environmental Testing Laboratory
