WA Department of Communities
Family and Domestic Violence One Stop Hub - Armadale Hub
Details
Description
The State Government is committed to ensuring the work of reducing FDV goes hand in hand with broader social policy reform and social impact, through tools like the Community Services Outcomes Measurement Framework. The Armadale Hub will deliver on the first domain of the Framework: Safe – We are free and safe from harm, and Community Outcome 1: We are free from domestic and family violence (FDV). This Service contributes to the achievement of the Department of Communities’ desired outcome that people who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing family and domestic violence are and remain safe and falls within the service delivery area of Preventing and Responding to Family and Domestic Violence.
The Armadale Hub will contribute to the outcomes of Paths to Safety: Western Australia’s Strategy to Reduce Family and Domestic Violenceby:
- Working with Aboriginal people to strengthen Aboriginal family safety;
- Acting to keep people safe;
- Growing primary prevention to stop family and domestic violence;
- Contributing to reformed systems which prioritise safety, accountability and collaboration.
The Armadale Hub supports the State Government’s commitments to Closing the Gap, particularly:
- Target 12: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are not overrepresented in out of home care.
- Target 13: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and households are safe.
The Armadale Hub will support outcomes under the Aboriginal Family Safety Strategy (AFSS) (due for publication in late 2022) which will provide an overarching framework to drive action across government and communities towards improved safety for Aboriginal women and children. The AFSS will outline Government’s primary response to addressing Target 13 of Closing the Gap. The Hub will also support the whole-of-government Aboriginal Empowerment Strategy – Western Australia 2021 - 2029, through providing services that are culturally appropriate and empower families to succeed.
The Armadale Hub is the third Family and Domestic Violence One Stop Hub to be delivered for Western Australia. The two Hub services currently operating in Mirrabooka and Kalgoorlie.
