Roadmap for Community Mental Health Treatment Services, including Emergency Response Services

The Mental Health Commission (MHC) requires a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to develop a system-wide Roadmap and implementation plan that provides a clear vision of the community mental health treatment and mental health emergency response services (the Roadmap) that will best meet the needs of people in Western Australia (WA) of all ages who require specialist community mental health care and/or emergency mental health care.

The Roadmap will identify and implement models of service (MoS), and care pathways for community mental health treatment services, including emergency response services, which will seek to keep people well in the community and relieve pressure on the hospital system. The Roadmap will deliver on the following three broad objectives:

1) Development of contemporary, evidence informed MoS and care pathways that meet the needs of people in Western Australia, improve outcomes and are implementable in a Western Australian context;

2) Identification of:

1. how current services can be optimised, enhanced, reconfigured or expanded; as well as identifying where new services may be required;

2. the investment which is required to implement a sustainable whole of system plan for treatment and care to meet projected demand; and

3. governance, working arrangements and commissioning models that foster collaboration, service integration, coordination, person-centred care and improved outcomes.
