Provision of Bush Fire Mitigation Services

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) seeks to establish a Panel of qualified and experienced Contractors to provide bushfire mitigation services throughout the State of Western Australia on an ‘as and when required’ basis. Contractors appointed to the Panel will be required to undertake a variety of work to support DFES’s fire risk management operations on unallocated crown land (UCL) and unmanaged reserves (UMR). The Panel Arrangement will be divided into the following regions:

• Metropolitan North East;
• Metropolitan South East;
• Metropolitan South Coastal;
• Metropolitan North Coastal;
• South West;
• Lower South West;
• Great Southern;
• Upper Great Southern;
• Midlands/Goldfields;
• Midwest/Gascoyne;
• Kimberley; and
• Pilbara.

Respondents may nominate to provide Services in one (1) or more region(s).

The Services required are divided into four (4) categories:

1. Vegetation Management;
2. Chemical Treatment;
3. Fire Breaks; and
4. Supplementary Services.

Respondents may nominate to provide Services under categories one (1) to three (3). Respondents appointed to the Panel will automatically be added to category four (4).

Note: DFES reserves the right throughout the Term of the Contract to use Local Government services, DFES Volunteer Brigades/Units, DFES staff, and/or other state government departments to conduct controlled burns or mitigation activities at its discretion, giving consideration to location and availability of suitable resources.
