Grains Research and Development Corporation
Soils Strategic Review
Details
Description
Soil health and function is fundamental to the long-term productivity and sustainability of the Australian grains industry. GRDC has made substantial investments in many facets of soil-related RD&E across Australia over many years. Significant inroads have been made in the understanding, management, and improvement of soils across the Australian grains industry. But significant gaps and opportunities remain in fundamental knowledge, grower adoption, and the development and scaling of new and novel solutions.
The GRDC Soils Strategic Review aims to identify gaps and opportunities for investment in future soils-related Research, Development and Extension (RD&E). The review will identify and analyse relevant information, trends, and opportunities from research, technology development, product innovations, on-farm practices and adoption, the regulatory landscape and other relevant factors, both nationally and internationally. Those insights will be coupled with extensive stakeholder consultations to develop robust evidence-based recommendations for GRDC to guide future RD&E investment in soils.
