Australian Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources
Two HPLC Systems
Details
Description
The Food Chromatography team within FHCL conducts approximately 9,000 tests annually, generating $1.6 million in revenue. These tests are critical for strategic clients such as Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), Imported Food Inspection Service (IFIS), and include the analysis of vitamins, preservatives, additives, and colours, with the majority requiring High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation.
Two of the current HPLC instruments have been deemed obsolete by the accredited maintenance provider. Replacement parts are no longer available, posing a significant risk to operational continuity, revenue generation, and NMI’s reputation as a leader in vitamin analysis. This procurement is for the provision of both a Normal Phase System HPLC and Reversed Phase System HPLC to replace the two obsolete instruments.
