Description
The Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) capability area for the Aerospace Division at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation Edinburgh requires replacement systems to facilitate the ongoing need for E3 testing. Such testing is required to investigate the performance (and vulnerability) of aircraft avionics systems for a number of airborne platforms when exposed to extremes of electromagnetic environments. The equipment is required to create environments that include emissions from radar and communications transmitters through to lighting and electromagnetic pulse events.
The equipment to be procured will be one each of:
a. Travelling Wave Tube K Band (18-26.5GHz) Amplifier 40 Watts Nominal;
b. Travelling Wave Tube Ka Band (26.5-40GHz) Amplifier 40 Watts Nominal; and
c. EMI Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Receiver covering frequency range 20Hz (or as low as possible) through to 40GHz.
Tenderers are to included training costs for the EMI (DSP) Receiver.
