Seeking a dynamic general equilibrium economic modelling exercise to provide estimates of the impacts upon the Australian and Indian economies of the full liberalisation of tariffs and non-tariff barriers on all goods covered by the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System (HS), and full liberalisation of services and investment flows between the two countries based on the removal of all measures which discriminate between local service providers and those of the other country.
The model will be a multi-region, multi-sector general equilibrium model of the world economy, or linked computable general equilibrium models which can provide comparable results.
The Contractor will produce a concise report that includes a summary of the modelling results, the methodology underpinning the results and analysis of the impact on Australia and India of bilateral trade, services and investment liberalisation.The report will be in plain English and divided into two sections.The first section will analyse the economy-wide implications for both Australia and India of bilateral liberalisation, including implications for economic growth, welfare, the impact on trade, and investment.The second section will analyse the impacts on a sector-by-sector basis.Impacts to be analysed will include those on trade, investment, production and employment.It will address possible adjustment costs in these sectors.Both of these sections will provide succinct qualitative analysis of the likely implications of bilateral liberalisation, drawing on modelling results.Categories
