SA Attorney General's Department
Flood Hazard Mapping and Assessment project
Details
Description
The current state of mapping of flood hazards that supports assessment of the risk to development in flood prone areas in South Australia lacks consistency, currency and completeness. There are gaps in the spatial coverage of flood mapping across the State and also known differences and issues in the temporal currency and methodological standards of the existing flood hazard mapping.
This procurement will seek responses from suitably qualified Environmental Consultants to deliver digitised flood hazard mapping in areas of the state targeted for development growth and where there are known issues with existing flood hazard mapping data quality or availability.
The spatial data developed will map flood hazard for the purposes of land use planning as reflected in the Planning and Design Code (the Code) and will be used in the re-development of the Hazard (Flood) Overlays in the Code. The flood hazard mapping will also support a range of emergency management purposes
