To support this commitment Queensland Rail has a program to upgrade and refurbish the existing suburban rail network and facilities, and the construction of new railway tracks in the suburban Network over the next few years.

As part of this overall program, the Queensland Rail HV & LV Systems Groups are required to provide the necessary input to the design and development of appropriate solutions for the upgrade, refurbishment and/or construction of the 25kV/50kV Overhead Traction Distribution and Power Systems Infrastructure within the suburban network as well as the Low Voltage (LV) requirements of the Rail Network Facilities within the Queensland Rail
