Description
Offers are invited by the State of Queensland (acting through the Department of National Parks Sport and Racing in relation to Invitation to Offer NPSR 17067 for the construction and delivery of one (1) only 24 metre, aluminium long range patrol vessel.
The new vessel is to fulfil the day-to-day management role of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area - performing a range of tasks including; marine protected area management, island national park management, compliance operations, incident response, diving operations and research. Based in Gladstone, it will operate throughout the Queensland Coast and Great Barrier Reef waters to the extent of the Exclusive Economic Zone. Much of the vessels work will be in remote areas of the Great Barrier Reef.
It is expected the new vessel will operate at sea between 220 – 270 days per year, with up to 16 persons on board for overnight voyages and up to 28 persons on day trips.
