Description
The Contractor shall remove the existing two (2) 12.5 MVA 132/23Kv transformers and shall design, manufacture, factory test, supply and delivery to site, construct, erect and install equipment, test and commission two (2) replacement 15 MVA 132/25Kv transformers. The entire system shall be delivered based on this concept by the Contractor.
The contractor will be required to remove redundant transformers from the Substation, to a place to be advised, and completely refurbish these units and leave them in an order to be installed at another site in the future.
The site works is to be completed in limited shutdown periods with minimum disruption to passenger services.
The Works include, but is not limited to the following elements:
Temporary site for assembly and possible oil filtering of the new transformers at or near Summers Street Substation site.
Acquiring the necessary permits from the state and local authorities affected by the works.
Any civil and/or structural works that may be required, including engineering check on the existing transformer support foundations to confirm their suitability for the new transformers.
Upgrading of transformer support foundation if required;
Design, supply, transportation to the site, Installation and commissioning of 132 kV/25 kV power transformers;
Upgrading of oil spillage containment, if required
All cable terminations removal and extension and reinstallation;
Earthing and bonding of the new transformers and any associated equipment/cabling
Testing and commissioning
Works also includes the transportation to the contractor’s workshop for refurbishing, testing and preparation for storage of the redundant transformers and transportation to PTA’s nominated storage site..
