Technical Support Services for Delivery Phase of METRONET Railcar Procurement Project

The PTA is seeking technical support services from a reputable consultancy firm, hereafter refer to as Technical Support Services (TSS) Contractor, to assist the Project team during the DSM contract negotiation phase with the preferred tenderer, and delivery phase of the Project with activities and tasks as set out in the specification at Schedule 8 ‘Consultants Brief’ Book 3.

An Independent Certifier (IC) will be jointly appointed by the PTA and the DSM Contractor through separate means to provide an independent review of design documentation and to certify passenger rolling stock by performing the role of the Independent Competent Person in accordance with the process as set out in AS7501 – Rolling Stock Compliance Certification.

The TSS Contractor’s primary role is to provide specialist engineering support to the PTA in its review of information presented by the DSM Contractor and/or the IC as and when required by the PTA. It is by no means the intent of the PTA to duplicate the level of independent review provided by the IC or an Independent Safety Assessor.
