Geoscience Australia
Economics study into an Australian continuous launch small satellite program for Earth observation
Details
Description
Geoscience Australia, to inform the Australian Government Satellite Earth Observation Roadmap, requires the services of a suitably qualified expert(s) to conduct a study into the economic impacts of a continuous launch small satellite program for Earth observation.
The program, which is hypothetical in nature, would have three goals:
• Securing supply of critical satellite Earth observation data, including through the establishment and maintenance of anchor programs with each of Australia’s key international space partnerships and bolstering the global observing system.
• Uplift Australia’s satellite manufacturing capability by increasing technical readiness levels for key components where Australia has a demonstrated or emerging technical advantage, demonstrating flight heritage in an operational context, and establishing international connections.
• Supporting Australia’s EO application developers to deliver economic, environmental and social benefit from EO data: for Australia, and in service of our international objectives.
