Description
The Transwa Australind service was, up until recently, a country passenger train service travelling between Bunbury and Perth (and vice versa), connecting Perth to the South-West of Western Australia. This rail service ceased from mid-November 2023 for a period of approximately 18 months. This service was replaced with road coach, until the new Australind railcars are delivered in late 2025. The PTA seeks the provision of Services, to undertake a review of the Australind train services and develop strategies, with consideration of the following: Customer insightsTravel Patterns and AnalysisResourcing and Maintenance Operational Requirements Maintenance and cateringAnalysis of depot staplingMaintenance and refuelling requirements; and Operating costs of the new rail cars verses the retired fleet.
