Description
The Western Australia Police Forensic Analysis Coordination Team is seeking submissions from suppliers to assemble and supply sterile DNA sampling kits that will enable the collection of DNA material from persons.
The Criminal Investigation (Identifying People) Act 2002 enables Police Officers to collect DNA material by way of mouth (buccal) swabs, hair sample or blood (finger prick) from serious offenders or persons suspected of committing serious offences and volunteers. DNA Testing is now a vital part of forensic work in detecting criminal activities.
The successful Respondent will be required to assemble, store and deliver state-wide free-in-store (F.I.S.) on an ongoing basis, the following DNA Sampling Kits:
1. Mouth and Hair Sampling Kits: and
2. Blood Sampling Kits
The DNA sampling kits will be supplied with all components packaged as a complete unit. Respondents are to provide a numerical numbering system or a proposed system that will allow for tracking of kits from manufacturing to analysing.
