Overview
Duratec has been engaged by the Clough BMD Joint Venture to deliver 3 packages within the Darwin Ship Lift Project, a major Northern Territory Government initiative designed to establish a long term maritime servicing hub supporting Defence, Border Force, and commercial marine operations, while also contributing to local employment and economic growth.
The scope involves integrated delivery across multiple packages, requiring full responsibility for the supply of labour, supervision, materials, plant, and equipment, as well as the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of facilities in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards.
The Blast and Paint Facility and associated Washdown bay comprises a purpose built facility designed to support surface preparation, coating, and maintenance of marine vessels and components within a controlled environment. The scope of works includes full construction delivery encompassing civil works, structural steel fabrication and erection, and building envelope systems, together with the installation of specialised process infrastructure such as dust extraction, ventilation and louvres and water management systems. The works include the installation and integration of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and communication services, ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and operational requirements. Block laying, installation of louvres, commercial doors and roller doors, together with all associated painting works, form integral components of the overall scope.
The SPMT Garage, a purpose built industrial facility designed to support the operation and maintenance of self propelled modular transporters used across the Ship Lift precinct. The works include civil earthworks, concrete works, structural steel fabrication and erection, cladding, electrical and mechanical services. Internal fit out includes operational areas, amenities, and access compliant with Australian Standards. The facility is designed to support efficient day to day operations, with careful consideration given to durability, functionality, and long term asset performance.
The Intake Substations include civil and earthworks packages, block laying, a structural concrete package including suspended slab roof, structural steel package and minor electrical and mechanical works.
