Services for Young People at Risk - Fitzroy Valley

The Children and Community Services Ministerial Body through the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) is seeking responses from suitable Respondents to provide Services for Young People - Fitzroy Valley.

Consistent with the Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy, July 2011, the Department intends to engage with the not for profit community services sector and Local Government Authorities for the provision of this service.

The Service will provide support, diversional and recreational activities and case management to young people at risk in the Fitzroy Valley region. The Service will contribute to the achievement of the Department’s desired outcome by providing early intervention strategies to prevent the risks to young people escalating, and diverting young people away from high risk situations that may impact on their safety. These factors may include family conflict, truancy, drug and alcohol use including volatile substances, the risk of homelessness, poor social skills and isolation from their peers. Young people may also be at risk if they have care responsibilities for a child or children, or family member with an illness and/or disability.

A non-mandatory briefing session for potential Respondents will be conducted on Thursday, 11 September 2014 at 2.00pm at the Department for Child Protection and Family Support, Fitzroy Crossing Office - Conference Room, Corner Fallon Road and Flynn Drive, Fitzroy Crossing.
