The Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs (the department) provides non-family based care services for children and young people, as part of the continuum of placement and support services in accordance with the legislated standards of care (Child Protection Act 1999, section 122) and the Charter of Rights for a Child in Care (Child Protection Act 1999, section 74 and Schedule 1).

The department is seeking to procure non-family based residential care services in Mount Isa for four (4) young people, aged 12 to under 18 years who have been assessed as having high to complex levels of support needs, with the flexibility to occasionally accommodate a child or young person assessed as having extreme needs funded through Individualised Placement and Support (IPS) arrangements.

Up to a total of $1,202,456 (excluding GST) per annum is available for this procurement activity. The annual funding equates to up to $3,607,368 (excluding GST) over three (3) years.
The successful supplier will enter into a contract from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2024, with establishment of service delivery to commence as soon as possible by 1 September 2021.
