Description

In September 2015, the Australian Government announced a $100 million package of measures to provide a safety net for women and children at high risk of experiencing violence.

This national package will seek to address domestic and family violence (DFV) across the nation through a Women's Safety Package, with investment to improve frontline support and services, leverage innovative technologies to keep women safe and provide education resources to help change community attitudes to violence and abuse.

The Women’s Safety package included an element to procure research into the type of security upgrades/strategies/recommendations that may specifically benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women impacted through family violence.

The Request for Quote process aims to identify an appropriately qualified and experience research consultant/s or professional research body possessing specific skills, knowledge/expertise and cultural competencies to explore and provide a report outlining consultations, conclusions and recommendations identifying suitable 'safe at home' security options or solutions, that will expressly benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons, specifically indigenous women at risk of or affected by domestic and family violence, living in remote areas of the state.
