Details
Description
The Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA) wishes to work with one or two contractors to undertake soil sampling over the next two soil sampling seasons (summers of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015) on farms in the high rainfall grazing zone (>600 mm) with a focus on beef and sheep grazing enterprises.
For the purposes of this project, the ‘high rainfall grazing zone’ comprises two separate agricultural regions:
• West Coast agricultural region - defined as the agricultural region extending from GinGin to Augusta Scott River where annual average rainfall is greater than 600mm; and
• South Coast agricultural region - defined as the agricultural region extending from Walpole to Esperance where annual average rainfall is greater than 600mm.
In each of the agricultural regions, there will be a focus on specific catchment areas. In particular:
• Swan Canning, Peel Harvey, Vasse Wonnerup, Leschenault, Scott River and Lower Blackwood catchments in the West Coast agricultural region; and
• Wilson Inlet catchment in the South Coast agricultural region.
