Major Works Contract – Renewal Works Mains Rehabilitation and Replacement

Barwon Water is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Contractor(s) for the Renewal Works Program, for rehabilitation and replacement of its Reticulation Sewer Mains within Barwon Water’s service area. Principal Contractor(s) will undertake these works under a Schedule of Rates Contract over a maximum period of six (6) years, with a three (3) year, plus two (2), plus one (1) contract term that may be renewed based on delivery performance.

The program of works aims to restore sewer mains to a level of reliability and service. This restoration provides benefits to the environment and customers. Overall, the program plays a key role in our strategy towards zero sewer spills, and also a healthier environment for all.The program in its entirety will involve multiple packages of works, named Renewal Works Orders where the Reticulation Sewers, and Property Connections, within the scope of works will need inspection, cleaning, condition assessment and recommendations, design and renewal. Maintenance Structures will require condition assessments. Lateral Connections are only required to be condition assessed where visible issues/defects are identified via the Condition Assessment (CCTV Inspection) of the existing Reticulation Sewer. Reticulation Sewer Mains are defined as gravity mains, less than 300mm in diameter.
