Australian Government Department of Defence
Army Safety Watercraft and Trailer System
Details
Description
The Commonwealth has identified the requirement to procure six (6) Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Army Safety Watercraft (ASW) and Trailer Systems to act as safety vessels in support of maritime activities conducted on inland, enclosed and open waters. The secondary role of the ASW is to conduct hydrographic survey operations utilising a hydrographic survey mission kit. The ASW and Trailer System will be towed by a commercial 4WD vehicle from within the Defence commercial vehicle inventory. The procurement is a single stage procurement using one contract to initially procure one (1) Prototype ASW and Trailer System for the purpose of testing and analysis. If accepted, the Commonwealth will then procure and additional five (5) production Army Safety Watercraft/Trailer Systems to the approved configuration, as well as associated equipment and spares.
