Lower Murray Water
Mildura WWTP Hardstand Construction
Details
Description
Contract No. 0665 involves the design and construction of a new hardstand at the Lower Murray Water (LMW) Mildura Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located at 341 Cureton Ave, Mildura, Victoria.
A key function of the Mildura WWTP is to receive alum sludge from LMWs Mildura Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This sludge is directed to sludge lagoons and drying beds, where it is dried and stored before being transported offsite for disposal. The new hardstand will provide a dedicated storage area adjacent to the existing drying beds, improving transport access and loading efficiency for offsite disposal.
The proposed hardstand will be constructed using site-won compacted clay, with a road base wearing course to protect the clay liner. The hardstand will cover an area of approximately 20,000 square meters.
